Stick ‘Em Up!

Here at Forever Ashbury., we have a Roland GX-24 vinyl sticker cutter/plotter that we use to make most of our custom cut stickers. From the design process, to a finished sticker, it is all done in house. With the help of friends and family, every single sticker is individually hand peeled (weeded) with tweezers. Extreme attention to detail and care goes into each and every sticker. With that said, they are now available for sale in-store only (currently until further notice). Every sticker is limited and range from different sizes, colors, shapes & designs, each at different prices. Come by and ask to see what we have in stock. And at the Purple Factory we call Forever Ashbury., we will always offer more styles on a daily/weekly basis.

Cut & Create.

People always come up to us and ask about our window displays. They want to know what they are and what they mean to us. So we decided to design and cut some window stickers to explain them. (We make our stickers by ourselves)

In one of our window displays, sits a car engine from a 1983 Datsun 280zx. It is a completely rebuilt L28 engine with F54 block and N42 head. We painted it purple and one day will go into my red 1973 Datsun 240z. Slowly, parts will be put on it like headers, intake manifold, triple carbs, etc. Until then, it’ll just sit pretty.

In the other window is our first screen printing press we ever bought to make our T-Shirts on. It was set up in our garage and we used it to make all of our first shirts. I even made the first ever Fly ย Society shirts on it. It is now retired, sitting on a wooden stand with a PURPLE CARBON FIBER pallet to lay the shirt on.

This other window had a bullet hole from a BB-Gun. It was there before we opened the store and we only patched it up, we liked how it looked so we decided to just sticker bomb it with our own stickers. Some of these stickers are available in our store so come by and pick some up!

And on our front door, which by the way is PURPLE CARBON FIBER wrapped, we decided to cut and design our social media links. Follow us on Twitter @ForeverAshbury, FaceBook.com/ForeverAshbury and Instagr.am @ForeverAshbury.

We got Derek’s thumbs up on this design!

There’s a Light that Shines.

And that light is the L.A.M.P program. It is a unique mentoring program for teens looking to develop their skills in music production, video production, photography, graphic design, silk screening. They offer state of the art equipment and training for teenagers who come from low income families at no cost.ย Over the weekend, we had the ย pleasure to lend out our store for their open mic night. The evening was a complete success, with good music, big smiles, and tacos with horchata to fill our tummys.

If you would like to get more info about this program, visit www.LBcap.org or call (562) 216-4600.

Phantom Black Mags.

In the late 80’s and early 90’s, the bikes that every kid on the block had to have was a GT bmx bike. GT Dyno, GT Performer, GT Freestyle, GT Slammer, etc. I always wanted a chrome GT with mag rims, but that era in Long Beach was a dangerous one, where gangs ran the streets and jacking/killing for sneakers were the cool thing to do. With that said, coming from a lower income family and living in the hood where a flashy bike like a GT would be gone in 60 seconds, my parents like most others decided to get me a cheaper and less cool Huffy. Now that I’m a grown up, I can buy my own toys and anyone trying to jack me will get drop kicked in the throat :) Took me a while to find one I like but finally, meet my latest project, a 1988 GT Performer with black mag wheels. It’s a great survivor and is ready for it’s transformation into a “Forever Ashbury. Edition” GT. Keep checking back for updates and see what we do to this one. Customize errrthang!
