Forever Ashbury Opens On Broadway

January 31, 2012 – On December 19, Forever Ashbury opened between Cherry and Hermosa Avenues at 1828 E. Broadway. Owned by Johnny Phan and Jaiden Quy Do, pictured, from left, the store stocks an assortment skateboards, hats, accessories and men and women’s clothing. Phan and Do, who “view fashion as an art form . . . [that] can be used to express personality and individuality” according the store’s Web site, embellish Forever Ashbury’s products with variations of the company’s logo, from the cursive “Ashbury” emblem to the unique “Dripping Kiss” design. In addition to clothing and accessories, the store also retails a variety of skateboard equipment such as wheels, trucks and more. Forever Ashbury is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. and is closed on Monday. For more information, visit www.foreverashbury.com or call 562/432-8300. We really enjoy seeing young talented people doing cool stuff. So when our homie Daniel told us he & his friend just filmed a quick TRICKAPEDIA on half-cab kick flips we knew it was going to be dope! Check him out below busting clean half-cab flips while rocking one of our newest tees the ‘Backsmith Box Logo’. Big shout out to Tony Khensouvan for the filming/editing.

Jack Of All Trades.

*WAIT FOR VIDEO BELOW TO LOAD*

Before I decided I wanted to pursuit my passion for fashion, I worked a full time construction job. I know, its odd to see someone like me in construction, but you gotta do what you gotta do to put food on your table and I was damn good at it too. Needless to say, I hated that job and only did it to survive, but out all of the jobs/careers I’ve had (McDonald’s, Car Washer at Subaru/Volkswagen, Cart Pusher at Target, Usher at a movie theatre, College student, etc.), I would have to admit that construction taught me the most skills as a man and to use in everyday life. At Forever Ashbury., we believe in doing everything ourselves, because at the end of the day, if something isn’t done correctly, you can only blame YOURSELF and if you want the job done right the first time, do it YOURSELF. This company only consists of us two.

To rekindle our love for skateboarding and keep active, we decided to build a fun box/bench, which was a replica of one that one of our friend’s dad made for us when we used to skate an empty parking lot at the Bank of America after hours as a kid. We also built a ramp out of the left over wood (Go Purple!). And to follow the title, Jack of All Trades, everything about this video is about US, from the recording, editing, building and skating. We hope it gives you an insight to show you that we’re more complex than just fashion, We are Forever Ashbury., period.

Check out the video below!! Also for other videos click here. And yes, I was wearing my jewelry and Louis Vuitton while doing construction :)
